Home Team Corps
(Long Service Medal) Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17 of the Home Team Corps Act 2017, the Home Team Corps Council, with the approval of the Minister for Education (Schools), makes the following Regulations:
PART 1
PRELIMINARY
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Home Team Corps (Long Service Medal) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 5 March 2018.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations —
“Clasp” means the Clasp mentioned in regulation 4(2) or 9(2);
“Council” means the Home Team Corps Council established under section 5 of the Act;
“Medal” means an NCDCC Long Service (10 Years) Medal, NCDCC Long Service (30 Years) Medal or NPCC Long Service Medal;
“NCDCC Long Service (10 Years) Medal” means the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps Long Service (10 Years) Medal mentioned in regulation 8;
“NCDCC Long Service (30 Years) Medal” means the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps Long Service (30 Years) Medal mentioned in regulation 13;
“NCDCC officer” means an officer or honorary officer of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps appointed under section 7 of the Act;
“NPCC Long Service Medal” means the National Police Cadet Corps Long Service Medal mentioned in regulation 3;
“NPCC officer” means an officer, honorary officer or honorary instructor of the National Police Cadet Corps appointed under section 7 of the Act;
“qualifying service” means —
(a)in relation to the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps, service as an NCDCC officer (less any period or periods that are deducted under regulation 9(3) or 14(2)); and
(b)in relation to the National Police Cadet Corps, service as an NPCC officer (less any period or periods that are deducted under regulation 4(3));
“service” means —
(a)in relation to the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps, active involvement in open or school units of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps; and
(b)in relation to the National Police Cadet Corps, active involvement in open or school units of the National Police Cadet Corps;
“Singapore Armed Forces” means the Singapore Armed Forces raised and maintained under the Singapore Armed Forces Act (Cap. 295).
