Road Traffic
(Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing)
(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2012 and shall come into operation on 9th April 2012.

Amendment of rule 64B

2. Rule 64B of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “a period of 6 or 12 months as may be specified in the licence, or for such shorter period as the Registrar may approve” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “such period as the Registrar may specify in the licence”; and

(b)

by deleting paragraph (5) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(5) The fees payable for a licence issued under this rule shall be the lowest amount calculated at the following rates or a combination thereof according to the period specified in the licence:

(a)	$30 per day;
(b)	$250 per month;
(c)	$800 per half-year.”.

Deletion of Eighth Schedule

3. The Eighth Schedule to the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules is deleted.
