Administration of Muslim Law Act
(Variation of Schedule)
Notification 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 78(5) of the Administration of Muslim Law Act, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, who is charged with the responsibility for the portfolio of the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth as regards Muslim affairs, makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification is the Administration of Muslim Law Act (Variation of Schedule) Notification 2016 and comes into operation on 1 June 2016.

Deletion and substitution of Third Schedule

2. The Third Schedule to the Administration of Muslim Law Act is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“THIRD SCHEDULE

Section 78(1)

CONTRIBUTIONS TO MOSQUE BUILDING
AND MENDAKI FUND

Total amount of employee’s wages for the calendar month

Amount of contributions payable for the calendar month

1.	Not more than $1,000

2.	More than $1,000 but not more than $2,000

$4.50

3.	More than $2,000 but not more than $3,000

$6.50

4.	More than $3,000 but not more than $4,000

$15

5.	More than $4,000 but not more than $6,000

$19.50

6.	More than $6,000 but not more than $8,000

$22

7.	More than $8,000 but not more than $10,000

8.	More than $10,000
