Sale of Food Act
(CHAPTER 283)
Food (Amendment) Regulations 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) of the Sale of Food Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Food (Amendment) Regulations 2018 and come into operation on 28 March 2018.
Amendment of regulation 19
2.  Regulation 19(2) of the Food Regulations (Rg 1) is amended by deleting sub‑paragraph (iii) of sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:
 
“(iii)Methyl para-hydroxy-benzoate and its sodium salt
Methyl para-hydroxy-benzoate
3”.
Amendment of regulation 30
3.  Regulation 30(3) of the Food Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “maximum limit”, the words “or extraneous maximum residue limit”.
Amendment of regulation 252
4.  Regulation 252(6) of the Food Regulations is amended by deleting the full‑stop at the end of sub‑paragraph (f) and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraphs:
(g)2’‑fucosyllactose, in an amount not exceeding 120 mg per 100 ml;
(h)Lacto‑N‑neotetraose, in an amount not exceeding 60 mg per 100 ml.”.
Amendment of Part I of Fourth Schedule
5.  Part I of the Fourth Schedule to the Food Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “or Propyl” under column 3; and
(b)by inserting, immediately below the item “Sausages, or sausage meat”, the following item and its corresponding entries in the appropriate columns as shown:

Amendment of Sixth Schedule
6.  The Sixth Schedule to the Food Regulations is amended by deleting the item “Pectin, calcium pectate; sodium pectate;” and substituting the following items:
 “Partially hydrolysed lecithin;
  Pectins, including amidated pectins;
  Phosphates listed below:
 
 Sodium dihydrogen phosphate, Disodium hydrogen phosphate, Trisodium phosphate, Potassium dihydrogen phosphate, Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, Tripotassium phosphate, Tricalcium phosphate, Disodium diphosphate, Trisodium diphosphate, Tetrasodium diphosphate, Tetrapotassium diphosphate, Dicalcium diphosphate, Calcium dihydrogen diphosphate, Pentasodium triphosphate, Pentapotassium triphosphate, Sodium polyphosphate, Potassium polyphosphate, Calcium polyphosphate;”.
Amendment of Part I of Seventh Schedule
7.  Part I of the Seventh Schedule to the Food Regulations is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after item 4, the following items:
 
“4A.VITAMIN K1
 
 Phylloquinone
 
4B.VITAMIN K2
 
 Menaquinone-7”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately above the entry “Folic acid” in item 10, the entry “Calcium L‑methylfolate”.
Amendment of Ninth Schedule
8.  The Ninth Schedule to the Food Regulations is amended by deleting the following items and their corresponding entries:
(a)Aldrin;
(b)DDT (including DDD and DDE);
(c)Dieldrin;
(d)Endrin;
(e)Heptachlor (including its epoxide);
(f)Lindane.
Amendment of Thirteenth Schedule
9.  The Thirteenth Schedule to the Food Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately below the item “Soybean‑based beverages”, the following item and its corresponding entry in the appropriate column as shown:
