Constitution of the Republic of Singapore
Singapore Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2009
In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 140 of, and section 4 of the Third Schedule to, the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Citizenship (Amendment) Rules 2009 and shall come into operation on 20th April 2009.
Amendment of Second Schedule
2.  The Second Schedule to the Singapore Citizenship Rules (R 1) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “22 year” in the first paragraph under the heading “Minor Citizens to take Oath” and substituting the words “22 years”;
(b)by inserting a comma after the word “abroad” in the second paragraph under the heading “Minor Citizens to take Oath”; and
(c)by deleting the words “High Commission or Embassy” in the paragraph under “Notice” and substituting the word “Mission”.
Amendment of Third Schedule
3.  The Third Schedule to the Singapore Citizenship Rules is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “22 year” in the first paragraph under the heading “Minor Citizens to take Oath” and substituting the words “22 years”;
(b)by inserting a comma after the word “abroad” in the second paragraph under the heading “Minor Citizens to take Oath”; and
(c)by deleting the words “High Commission or Embassy” in the first paragraph under “Notice” and substituting the word “Mission”.
