Arms and Explosives (Arms)
(Amendment) Rules 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46(1) of the Arms and Explosives Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Arms and Explosives (Arms) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 24 April 2017.
Amendment of rule 4
2.  Rule 4 of the Arms and Explosives (Arms) Rules (R 1) is amended by deleting paragraph (3) and substituting the following paragraph:
(3)  Subject to paragraph (4), every licence to possess arms is valid for a period of 2 years after the date of issue, or such shorter period as the Licensing Officer may determine.”.
Amendment of rule 14
3.  Rule 14 of the Arms and Explosives (Arms) Rules is amended by deleting paragraph (3) and substituting the following paragraph:
(3)  A licence under paragraph (1) is valid for a period of 2 years after the date of issue, or such shorter period as the Licensing Officer may determine.”.
