Pingat Kepujian (The Commendation Medal)
(Amendment) Rules 2017
The President makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Pingat Kepujian (The Commendation Medal) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 13 January 2017.
Amendment of rule 3
2.  Rule 3 of the Pingat Kepujian (The Commendation Medal) Rules 1996 (G.N. No. S 336/96) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (c); and
(b)by deleting the full‑stop at the end of paragraph (d) and substituting a semi‑colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:
(e)any person who is or has been employed as a member of the personal staff of the President.”.
Deletion and substitution of rule 7
3.  Rule 7 of the Pingat Kepujian (The Commendation Medal) Rules 1996 is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:
7.  The President may forfeit any Medal awarded to any person under these Rules if —
(a)the person is convicted of any criminal offence;
(b)the person is dismissed from the public service or any form of service or employment mentioned in rule 3(b), (c), (d) or (e); or
(c)the person is guilty of misconduct or disloyalty to Singapore.”.
