Employment (Part-Time Employees)
(Amendment) Regulations 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 66B of the Employment Act, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Employment (Part‑Time Employees) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into operation on 1 April 2019.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(2) of the Employment (Part‑Time Employees) Regulations (Rg 8) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the words “section 43(1)” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “section 88A(1)”.

Amendment of regulation 6

3. Regulation 6(2A) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “a part‑time employee employed in a managerial or an executive position” and substituting the words “a part‑time employee (other than a part‑time employee to whom Part IV of the Act applies by virtue of section 35(b) of the Act or who is a workman mentioned in section 35(a) of the Act)”.

Amendment of regulation 7

4. Regulation 7 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Section 43(1)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Section 88A(1)”;
(b)	by deleting the words “section 43” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “section 88A”;
(c)	by deleting the words “Section 43(7)” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Section 88A(7) and (8)”; and
(d)	by deleting the words “Section 43(3)” in paragraph (4) and substituting the words “Section 88A(3)”.
