(Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and come into operation on 28 March 2022.

Amendment of rule 4

2. Rule 4 of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules (R 8) is amended —

(a)

by deleting sub‑paragraph (a) of paragraph (2) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(a)	in the form set out at the Authority’s Internet website at https://onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/;”;

(b)

by deleting sub‑paragraph (c) of paragraph (2) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(c)

accompanied by a non‑refundable fee of —

(i)	$30 in the case of an application to drive a taxi by an applicant who is a holder of a licence to drive a chauffeured private hire car; or
(ii)	$40 in any other case, regardless of the number of licences that are being applied for; and”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2A), the following paragraph:

“(2B) Despite paragraph (2)(d)(iii), a person that is applying for a licence to drive a taxi need not include any of the certificates mentioned in that paragraph in the application under paragraph (1) if —

(a)	the person is a holder of a licence to drive a chauffeured private hire car; and
(b)	the period for which the person wishes to drive a taxi is the remainder of the validity period of the person’s licence to drive a chauffeured private hire car, as described in rule 7A(3)(a).”.

Miscellaneous amendment

3. The Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors, Trishaw Riders and Passengers) Rules are amended by deleting “http://www.lta.gov.sg” in the following provisions and substituting in each case “https://onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/”:

Rule 9(9)(a)

Rule 9A(3)(a).
