(CHAPTER 3)
Muslim Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Rules 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 145 of the Administration of Muslim Law Act, the President of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Muslim Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Rules 2010 and shall come into operation on 16th April 2010.
Amendment of rule 45
2.  Rule 45 of the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Rules (R 1) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “paragraph (2)” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “paragraphs (2) and (3)”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
“(3)  The Permanent Secretary may, in the circumstances of a particular case or a class of cases, waive the whole or any part of any fee specified in the Third Schedule for a search of the Register of Marriages.”.
