(Amendment) Regulations 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 1 April 2021.

Amendment of regulation 5

2. Regulation 5 of the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) Regulations (Rg 18) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (3), the following paragraph:

“(3A) Where a charge is constituted on a member’s immovable property under section 15(11EB) of the Act and the member is not eligible for a waiver of repayment under paragraph (3)(c), the Board may reduce the amount required to be refunded to the account of the member in the Fund under paragraph (1), in whole or in part, up to the amount secured by the charge.”.
