Public Service (Personnel Boards) (Amendment) Order 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 110D(1) and (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, the President, on the advice of the Prime Minister, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Public Service (Personnel Boards) (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall, with the exception of paragraph 4(a) and (c), be deemed to have come into operation on 15th February 2002.

(2) Paragraph 4(a) and (c) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 23rd November 2001.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2(1) of the Public Service (Personnel Boards) Order (O 3) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraphs (d), (e), (f), (i) and (j) of the definition of “General Services” and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(d)	the Singapore Immigration & Registration Service; and
(e)	the Prisons Service;”; and

(b)

by deleting paragraph (c) of the definition of “public officer”.

Amendment of paragraph 4

3. Paragraph 4 of the principal Order is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “in that class” in the 1st line of sub-paragraph (d), the words “(but excluding the Deputy Sergeant at Arms)”.

Amendment of Schedule

4. The Schedule to the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Ministry of Communications and Information Technology” wherever they appear in item 1 and substituting in each case the words “Ministry of Transport”;
(b)	by deleting the words “, wherever posted” in the second column of item 17 and substituting the words “holding posts in the Central Narcotics Bureau”;
(c)	by deleting the words “Ministry of Information and the Arts” wherever they appear in item 19 and substituting in each case the words “Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts”; and
(d)	by deleting paragraph (a) in the second column of item 24. [G.N. Nos. S 597/99; S 415/2000]
