Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) (Amendment) Rules 1996

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) (Amendment) Rules 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1996.

2. Rule 59 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (1), the following paragraph:

“(1) Every private bus, excursion bus, private hire bus or school bus registered on or after 1st October 1996 shall be fitted with a chassis that is suitably designed and constructed for the carriage of passengers.”.
