Government Hospitals (Fees)
(Amendment) Rules 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(1) of the Government Hospitals Act, the Minister for Health hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Government Hospitals (Fees) (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into operation on 5th May 2000.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Government Hospitals (Fees) Rules (R 1) is amended by deleting item 16 and substituting the following item:
16.Dental treatment fees (excluding cost of any precious metal or special material used and any charge for laboratory work farmed out to contractors for which the charge shall be payable by the patient in addition to the dental treatment fees)
 
(a)Private consultation cases:

Anaesthetic fee for dental treatment

(b)Residents who are treated by dental students or who are not private consultation cases, except for residents falling within paragraph (c):
 
 
 
 
 
(i)50% of the fee payable under paragraph (a) for non-cosmetic dental treatment; or
 
 
 
 
 
(ii)the full fee payable under paragraph (a) for cosmetic dental treatment.
 
 
 
 
(c)Residents 18 years of age or below and who are unemployed and residents 65 years of age or above, who are not private consultation cases:
 
 
 
 
 
(i)25% of the fee payable under paragraph (a) for non-cosmetic dental treatment subject to a minimum fee of $9 per treatment procedure; or
 
 
 
 
 
(ii)the full fee payable under paragraph (a) for cosmetic dental treatment.
