(Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme —
Uninsured Member) (Amendment)
Notification 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(2)(d) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Uninsured Member) (Amendment) Notification 2021 and comes into operation on 1 April 2021.
Amendment of paragraph 2
2.  Paragraph 2 of the Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Uninsured Member) Notification 2019 (G.N. No. S 891/2019) is amended by deleting the paragraph heading and substituting the following paragraph heading:
“Members without certain contributions”.
New paragraph 2A
3.  The Central Provident Fund (Dependants’ Protection Insurance Scheme — Uninsured Member) Notification 2019 is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 2, the following paragraph:
“Member with pre‑existing incapacity or serious illness
2A.  For the purpose of section 42(2)(d) of the Act, a member of the Fund is not insured under the Scheme if the member is incapacitated or suffering from serious illness before the date on which any contribution has been paid into the Fund for the member.”.
