(Amendment) Rules 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(2) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Central Provident Fund Board makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Central Provident Fund (Nominations) (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 1 April 2024.

Replacement of rule 1AA

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Nominations) Rules (R 1) (called in these Rules the principal Rules), replace rule 1AA with —

“Definitions

1AA. In these Rules —

“applicable person” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Act and regulation 2(b) of the Central Provident Fund (Prescribed Applicable Person) Regulations 2024 (G.N. No. S 275/2024);

“designated shares” has the meaning given by section 2(1) of the Act.”.

Amendment of rule 2

3. In the principal Rules, in rule 2(1), after “a member”, insert “who is an applicable person”.

Amendment of rule 3

4. In the principal Rules, in rule 3(1), after “a member”, insert “who is an applicable person”.

Amendment of rule 7

5. In the principal Rules, in rule 7(c), before “by written notice”, insert “in the case of an applicable person,”.

Amendment of rule 8

6. In the principal Rules, in rule 8(1), after “a member”, insert “who is an applicable person”.
