Road Traffic (Driver Improvement Points
System) (Amendment) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 45(2) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Driver Improvement Points System) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1998.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Road Traffic (Driver Improvement Points System) Rules (R 25) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (d) of item (1) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(d)	by 41 to 50 kilometres per hour

(e)	by 51 to 60 kilometres per hour

(f)	by more than 60 kilometres per hour

24”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (d) of item (2) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(d)	by 41 to 50 kilometres per hour

(e)	by 51 to 60 kilometres per hour

(f)	by more than 60 kilometres per hour

24”; and

(c)

by deleting item (30) and substituting the following item:

“(30) Reckless or dangerous driving

24”.
