(CHAPTER 1)
Interpretation (Delegation of Powers —
Ministry of Home Affairs)
(Amendment) Notification 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36(1) of the Interpretation Act, the Minister for Home Affairs, with the approval of the President, makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Interpretation (Delegation of Powers — Ministry of Home Affairs) (Amendment) Notification 2019 and comes into operation on 12 April 2019.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Interpretation (Delegation of Powers — Ministry of Home Affairs) Notification 2014 (G.N. No. S 723/2014) is amended —
(a)by deleting “, 69(1)” in item 1(f);
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (f) of item 1, the following paragraph:
“(fa)Section 69(1) of the Police Force Act, in respect only of —
(i)the appointment, dismissal, discharge or reduction in rank or grade, of special police officers of or above the rank of assistant superintendent; and
(ii)the promotion of special police officers to a rank of or above the rank of superintendent.”;
(c)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (i) of item 1, the following paragraph:
“(j)Section 9B(1) of the Civil Defence Act (Cap. 42).”; and
(d)by deleting item 2 and substituting the following items:
 
“2.Commissioner of Police
(a)Section 68(3) of the Police Force Act.
 
 
(b)Section 69(1) of the Police Force Act, in respect only of the promotion of special police officers to the ranks of deputy superintendent and assistant superintendent.
 
2A.Commissioner of Civil Defence
Sections 7(4) and 9A(4) of the Civil Defence Act.”.
