Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences)
(Amendment) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 48 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 20 June 2017.

New rule 22A

2. The Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Driving Licences) Rules (R 27) are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 22, the following rule:

“Validity of provisional licence

22A. A provisional licence is valid for a period of 6 months.”.
