Road Traffic Act
(Chapter 276)
Road Traffic (International Circulation) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2005
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 25 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (International Circulation) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2005 and shall, with the exception of rule 2(a) and (b), come into operation on 30th May 2005.
(2)  Rule 2(a) and (b) shall come into operation on 1st June 2005.
Amendment of rule 20E
2.  Rule 20E of the Road Traffic (International Circulation) Rules (R 7) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “The” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Subject to paragraph (1A), the”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (1), the following paragraph:
(1A)  No vehicle entry fee shall be payable for a vehicle during the first 10 days (in the aggregate) that the vehicle remains in Singapore —
(a)between 1st June 2005 and 31st December 2005 (both dates inclusive); and
(b)between 1st January and 31st December (both dates inclusive) in any subsequent year.”; and
(c)by deleting the definition of “part of a day” in paragraph (2) and substituting the following definitions:
“ “part of a day”  —
(a)in relation to any day during the school holiday period, does not include any period of time between midnight and 0200 hours, and between 1200 hours and midnight, of that day; and
(b)in relation to any other day, does not include any period of time between midnight and 0200 hours, or between 1700 hours and midnight, of that day;
“school holiday period” means the vacation period for Government schools which occurs in the middle or at the end of any year.”.
