Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act (Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2) Notification 2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act (Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2) Notification 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2008.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Appendices of the Schedule to the Endangered Species (Import and Export) Act are amended —

(a)

by deleting the item “Cygnus melanocoryphus” in Appendix II under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Anatidae Ducks, geese, swans, etc.” (page 37) and substituting the item “Cygnus melancoryphus”;

(b)

by deleting the following items in Appendices I and II under the taxa “CORACIIFORMES” and “Bucerotidae Hornbills” (page 38):

“

Rhyticeros subruficollis

Rhyticeros spp. (Except the species included in Appendix I)

”,

and substituting the following items:

“

Rhyticeros subruficollis

Rhyticeros spp. (Except the species included in Appendix I)

”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the item “ Cyanopsitta spixii” in Appendix I under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Psittacidae Amazons, macaws, parakeets, parrots” (page 43), the item “ Cyanoramphus cookii”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after the item “ Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae” in Appendix I under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Psittacidae Amazons, macaws, parakeets, parrots” (page 43), the item “ Cyanoramphus saisseti”;

(e)

by deleting the item “Glyptemys muhlenbergi” in Appendix I under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Emydidae Box turtles, freshwater turtles” (page 48) and substituting the item “Glyptemys muhlenbergii”;

(f)

by inserting, immediately after the item “ Allobates zaparo” in Appendix II under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Dendrobatidae Poison frogs” (page 50), the item “Cryptophyllobates azureiventris”;

(g)

by deleting the sub-heading relating to the taxon “Ambystomidae Axolotls” under the taxon “CAUDATA” (page 50) and substituting the sub-heading “Ambystomatidae Axolotls”; and

(h)

by inserting, immediately after the item “ ANTIPATHARIA spp.” in Appendix II under the sub-heading relating to the taxon “ANTIPATHARIA Black corals” (page 54), the following taxa and items:

”.
