Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water)
(Amendment) Regulations 2017
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 72 of the Public Utilities Act, the Public Utilities Board, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 and come into operation on 1 July 2017.
Deletion of regulation 8
2.  Regulation 8 of the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations (Rg 7) is deleted.
Deletion and substitution of Schedule
3.  The Schedule to the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
THE SCHEDULE
Regulations 3 to 7
1.  The domestic tariff is —
(a)where the water supplied in a month does not exceed 40 cubic metres, $1.19 per cubic metre; and
(b)where the water supplied in a month exceeds 40 cubic metres, the aggregate of —
(i)$1.19 per cubic metre for the first 40 cubic metres of water supplied; and
(ii)$1.46 per cubic metre for the amount of water supplied in excess of 40 cubic metres.
2.  The non‑domestic tariff is $1.19 per cubic metre.
3.  The tariff for shipping is $1.92 per cubic metre.”.
Transitional provisions
4.—(1)  Despite regulation 3, the tariffs payable to the Board for water supplied to any premises in the relevant billing month for the premises is as follows:
(a)the tariffs in the Schedule to the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations as in force immediately before 1 July 2017 for water that is supplied, or fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied to the premises in the days in June 2017;
(b)the tariffs in the Schedule to the Public Utilities (Tariffs for Water) Regulations as in force on 1 July 2017 for water that is supplied, or fairly or reasonably estimated to have been supplied to the premises in the days in July 2017.
(2)  In this regulation, “relevant billing month”, in relation to any premises, means the period of a month that comprises days in June 2017 and July 2017, and in respect of which a bill for the water supplied to those premises is rendered by the Board.
