(Police Operations Vehicle Drivers — Exemption)
Order 2020
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Road Traffic (Police Operations Vehicle Drivers — Exemption) Order 2020 and comes into operation on 1 May 2020.
Exemption
2.—(1)  Section 120(3) of the Act does not apply to a police officer when —
(a)driving a police operations vehicle, being a motor vehicle owned by the Government for the use of the Singapore Police Force for the purposes of maintaining law and order; and
(b)responding to an emergency.
(2)  In sub‑paragraph (1)(b), “emergency” means an actual or imminent event that requires immediate action from a police officer and that causes, or threatens to cause —
(a)any harm or danger to the life, health or safety of any individual;
(b)any destruction of, or damage to, any property; or
(c)any harm or danger to the health or safety of the public.
