Town Council of Potong Pasir
(Penalties and Administrative Fee for Late
Payment of Conservancy and Service Charges
and Licence Fees) (Amendment) By-laws 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(2)(a) and (c) of the Town Councils Act, the Town Council for the Town of Potong Pasir hereby makes the following By-laws:

Citation and commencement

1. These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Potong Pasir (Penalties and Administrative Fee for Late Payment of Conservancy and Service Charges and Licence Fees) (Amendment) By-laws 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2013.

Deletion and substitution of by-law 2

2. By-law 2 of the Town Council of Potong Pasir (Penalties and Administrative Fee for Late Payment of Conservancy and Service Charges and Licence Fees) By-laws (By 61) is deleted and the following by-law substituted therefor:

“Calculation of penalties for conservancy and service charge or licence fee in arrears

2. Where any conservancy and service charge or licence fee payable by any tenant, owner or licensee to the Town Council of Potong Pasir is in arrears for one month, the tenant, owner or licensee shall be liable to pay the Town Council for every month in which there is an arrear a penalty at the appropriate rate set out in the Schedule for every month in which any conservancy and service charge or licence fee is in arrears and the penalty shall become due and payable on the day following the expiry of that month.”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Town Council of Potong Pasir (Penalties and Administrative Fee for Late Payment of Conservancy and Service Charges and Licence Fees) By-laws is amended —

(a)

by deleting “$7” in the second column of item 3 and substituting “$5”;

(b)

by deleting “$9” in the second column of item 4 and substituting “$6”;

(c)

by deleting “$12” in the second column of item 5 and substituting “$7”; and

(d)

by deleting items 6 to 9 and substituting the following item:

“

Commercial property (e.g. kiosk, market or food centre stall)

10% of the amount in arrears on the last day of every month in which there is an arrear.

”.
