Public Entertainments and Meetings
(Composition of Offences by
Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer)
(Amendment) Rules 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 33(1) of the Public Entertainments Act 1958, the Minister for Communications and Information makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Rules are the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Composition of Offences by Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and, except for rule 3(a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (h), come into operation on 6 May 2022.
(2)  Rule 3(a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (h) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
Amendment of rule 1
2.  Rule 1 of the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Composition of Offences by Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer) Rules 2014 (G.N. No. S 881/2014) is amended by deleting the words “and Meetings”.
Amendment of rule 2
3.  Rule 2 of the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Composition of Offences by Arts Entertainment Licensing Officer) Rules 2014 is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “section 21(1)” and substituting the words “section 31(1)”;
(b)by deleting the words “section 17A(7)(a) or (b)” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 25(7)(a) or (b)”;
(c)by deleting the words “section 17A(1)” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “section 25(1)”;
(d)by deleting the words “section 19(1)(a), (b) or (c)” in paragraph (b) and substituting the words “section 28(1)(a), (b) or (c)”;
(e)by deleting the words “section 19(1)(d)” in paragraphs (c) and (d) and substituting in each case the words “section 28(1)(d)”;
(f)by inserting, immediately after the words “section 12” in paragraph (c), the words “or 16(2) or (3)”;
(g)by deleting the words “Public Entertainments and Meetings (Arts Entertainment) Rules (R 4)” in paragraph (d) and substituting the words “Public Entertainments (Arts Entertainment) Rules 2022 (G.N. No. S 359/2022)”; and
(h)by deleting the words “section 19(3)” in paragraph (e) and substituting the words “section 28(3)”.
