Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment) Rules 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1)(b) of the Parking Places Act, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment) Rules 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1999.

Amendment of rule 8

2. Rule 8(1) of the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) Rules (R 5) is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “Schedule”, the words “except Jurong Island”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) Rules is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the paragraph to “Zone C” in the second column of item 3 of Part I, the following item:

“

Jurong Island

1 car parking space per 150m² of floor area.

”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 9 of Part I, the following item:

“

10.

Petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and related industries on Jurong Island

1 car parking space per 200m² of office floor area.

”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after the words “off-shore islands” in item 1 of Part IV, the words “except Jurong Island”.
