(Wages — Excluded Payments)
(Amendment) Notification 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by the definition of “wages” in section 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Notification is the Central Provident Fund (Wages — Excluded Payments) (Amendment) Notification 2023 and, except for paragraph 2(b), (d) and (e), comes into operation on 15 June 2023.

(2) Paragraph 2(b), (d) and (e) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Wages — Excluded Payments) Notification 2019 (G.N. No. S 726/2019), in paragraph 2 —

(a)	in sub‑paragraph (1), in the definition of “dependant”, in paragraph (c), replace “in which it” with “in which the marriage”;
(b)	in sub‑paragraph (2)(a), replace “(Cap. 76)” with “1999”;
(c)	in sub‑paragraph (2)(a), replace “a registered medical practitioner (as defined in section 2” with “a registered medical practitioner (as defined in section 2(1)”;
(d)	in sub‑paragraph (2)(a), replace “(Cap. 174)” with “1997”; and
(e)	in sub‑paragraph (2)(a), replace “(Cap. 333A)” with “2000”.
