Home Affairs Uniformed Services (INVEST Plan)
(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Home Affairs Uniformed Services Superannuation Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Home Affairs Uniformed Services (INVEST Plan) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2013.

Amendment of regulation 8

2. Regulation 8 of the Home Affairs Uniformed Services (INVEST Plan) Regulations (Rg 2) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the word “further” in paragraph (e).

Amendment of regulation 9

3. Regulation 9 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (f).

Amendment of regulation 18

4. Regulation 18 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “has been a member of the INVEST Plan for at least 10 years” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “has served at least 10 years of reckonable service while being a member of the INVEST Plan”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (7), the following paragraph:

“(8) In paragraph (3), “reckonable service” shall not include service which would otherwise be reckonable under regulation 8(e).”.

Amendment of regulation 21A

5. Regulation 21A of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the word “withhold” and substituting the word “defer”; and
(b)	by deleting the word “Withholding” in the regulation heading and substituting the word “Deferment”.
