(Topping-Up of Special Account)
(Amendment) Regulations 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Topping‑Up of Special Account) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into operation on 10 May 2019.
Amendment of regulation 4
2.  Regulation 4 of the Central Provident Fund (Topping‑Up of Special Account) Regulations (Rg 37) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the words “applicable property charges” in paragraph (5)(a)(i)(A) and (b)(i)(A), the words “that satisfy the requirement in paragraph (6A)”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (6), the following paragraph:
(6A)  Where an applicable property charge mentioned in paragraph (5)(a)(i)(A) and (b)(i)(A) is in respect of a leasehold estate in an immovable property, the unexpired term of the leasehold estate at the time when the Board considers granting the member’s application under paragraph (5)(a) or (b), or (6) (as the case may be) must be —
(a)at least (95 – T1) years, where T1 is the member’s age at that time; or
(b)such shorter period as the Board may permit.”.
Amendment of regulation 9
3.  Regulation 9(5) of the Central Provident Fund (Topping‑Up of Special Account) Regulations is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “shall exclude —” and substituting the words “excludes the member’s relevant deductibles.”; and
(b)by deleting sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii).
