Singapore Armed Forces Long Service and
Good Conduct Medal (Amendment) Rules 1999

The President hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (Amendment) Rules 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1999.

Deletion and substitution of rule 8

2. Rule 8 of the Singapore Armed Forces Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Rules 1973 (G.N. No.S57/73) is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:

“8.—(1) The Armed Forces Council may forfeit any Medal or Clasp awarded to any person under these Rules if he —

(a)	is convicted of any criminal offence;
(b)	is dismissed or removed from the Singapore Armed Forces on disciplinary grounds; or
(c)	is guilty of misconduct or disloyalty to Singapore.

(2) Any Medal or Clasp so forfeited may be restored by the Armed Forces Council at its discretion.”
