Road Traffic
(Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing)
(Amendment No. 6) Rules 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 6) Rules 2013 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2013.

New rule 31A

2. The Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 31, the following rule:

“Sale or disposal of certain vehicles

31A. The registered owner of a vehicle shall first obtain the approval of the Registrar before selling or disposing of any of the following vehicles:

(a)	a motor vehicle approved by the Minister to be registered in the name of a disabled person;
(b)	a normal vintage vehicle; or
(c)	a restricted vintage vehicle.”.

Amendment of rule 67

3. Rule 67(1) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of sub‑paragraph (b); and

(b)

by deleting the comma at the end of sub‑paragraph (c) and substituting the word “; or”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(d)	any carbon emission tax payable under section 11AA of the Act,”.
