(Savings and Transitional Provisions)
Rules 2015
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(6) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014 (Savings and Transitional Provisions) Rules 2015 and shall come into operation on 1 February 2015.
Definition
2.  In these Rules, “principal Act” means the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276) as in force immediately before 1 February 2015.
Pending appeals
3.  Where an appeal under section 35(19), 35B(3), 46(3), 47C(8), 53(4) or 60 of the principal Act has been received before 1 February 2015 and the appeal has not been dealt with or disposed of immediately before that date, the appeal is to be dealt with in accordance with the principal Act as if sections 12 and 27(a) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014 had not been enacted.
Savings provision for authorised police officers
4.  A police officer who, immediately before 1 February 2015, is authorised by notification in the Gazette made by the Minister under section 133(7)(a) of the principal Act is deemed to be a police officer authorised by the Deputy Commissioner of Police under section 133(7)(a) of the principal Act as amended by section 24(b) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014.
