(Motor Vehicles, Wearing of Seat Belts)
(Amendment) Rules 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 75 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Wearing of Seat Belts) (Amendment) Rules 2015 and shall come into operation on 1 February 2015.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Wearing of Seat Belts) Rules 2011 (G.N. No. S 688/2011) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the definition of “approved child restraint” and substituting the following definition:

“ “approved child restraint” means any child restraint of a type approved by the Deputy Commissioner of Police under section 76(1) of the Act;”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the words “young person” in the definition of “seat belt”, the words “such as a child restraint”.
