Employment Act

Employment (Children and Young Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 1996
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 70 of the Employment Act, the Minister for Labour hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Employment (Children and Young Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1996.
2.  Regulation 2 of the Employment (Children and Young Persons) Regulations (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the definition of “approved apprenticeship” and substituting the following definition:
“ “approved apprenticeship” means any apprenticeship approved by the Institute of Technical Education, Singapore from time to time;”.

3.  Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is deleted.
4.  Regulation 13(2) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “Vocational and Industrial Training Board” in the last line and substituting the words “Institute of Technical Education, Singapore”.
5.  The Schedule to the principal Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
