Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Authorisation of Special Types) (Amendment No. 2) Notification 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Authorisation of Special Types) (Amendment No. 2) Notification 1997 and shall come into operation on 26th September 1997.

New paragraph 8

2. The Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Authorisation of Special Types) Notification (N 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 7, the following paragraph:

“Exemption

8.—(1) Paragraph 7 shall not apply to the owner of a trailer transporting an ISO standard container.

(2) In sub-paragraph (1), “ISO standard container” means a container which has been constructed to meet the size, weight and design requirements of the International Standards Organisation and which is used to contain cargo.”.
