(Registration of Power-Assisted Bicycles)
(Amendment) Rules 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Road Traffic (Registration of Power‑Assisted Bicycles) (Amendment) Rules 2021 and come into operation on 1 July 2021.

Amendment of rule 4

2. Rule 4(3) of the Road Traffic (Registration of Power‑Assisted Bicycles) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 451/2017) is amended by deleting sub‑paragraph (ii) of sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ii)

in the case of an application submitted after 31 January 2018 —

(A)	a power‑assisted bicycle mentioned in sub‑paragraph (b) or (c) of rule 3(2) of the Road Traffic (Power‑Assisted Bicycles — Approval) Rules 2004 which complies with the requirements specified in Part 2 of the Schedule to those Rules; or
(B)	a power‑assisted bicycle referred to in sub‑paragraph (d) of rule 3(2) of the Road Traffic (Power‑Assisted Bicycles — Approval) Rules 2004 which complies with the requirements specified in Part 3 of the Schedule to those Rules; and”.
