Road Traffic (New Drivers)
(Amendment) Rules 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 48 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (New Drivers) (Amendment) Rules 2015 and shall come into operation on 1 February 2015.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Rules (R 32) is amended by deleting the definition of “new driver” and substituting the following definition:

“ “new driver” means a person who holds a driving licence for less than one year from the date of the grant of the licence to him under section 35(6) or 36(2)(a)(ii) of the Act, but not under section 36(2)(a)(i) of the Act;”.
