Infectious Diseases Act
(Amendment of First, Fifth and Sixth Schedules)
Notification 2016
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 70 of the Infectious Diseases Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification is the Infectious Diseases Act (Amendment of First, Fifth and Sixth Schedules) Notification 2016 and comes into operation on 28 September 2016.
Amendment of First Schedule
2.  The First Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is amended —
(a)by deleting item 1 and substituting the following items:
1.Acute Hepatitis A.
1A.Acute Hepatitis B.
1B.Acute Hepatitis C.
1C.Acute Hepatitis E.”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after item 2, the following item:
2A.Botulism.”;
(c)by deleting items 9 and 12;
(d)by deleting item 13 and substituting the following items:
13.HIV Infection.
13A.Japanese Encephalitis.”;
(e)by inserting, immediately after item 15, the following item:
15A.Leptospirosis.”;
(f)by deleting the words “(formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection)” in item 19A;
(g)by inserting, immediately after item 20, the following item:
20A.Murine Typhus.”;
(h)by inserting, immediately after item 26, the following item:
26A.Rabies.”;
(i)by deleting the words “Chlamydia” in paragraph (a) of item 30 and substituting the words “Chlamydial”; and
(j)by inserting, immediately after item 30, the following item:
30A.Tetanus.”.
Amendment of Fifth Schedule
3.  Item 2 of the Fifth Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is amended by deleting the words “(formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection)”.
Amendment of Sixth Schedule
4.  Item 1 of the Sixth Schedule to the Infectious Diseases Act is amended by deleting the words “(formerly known as Novel Coronavirus Infection)”.
