Parking Places
(Exempt Area Licensable Services —
Exemption) Order 2018
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Parking Places Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Parking Places (Exempt Area Licensable Services — Exemption) Order 2018 and comes into operation on 8 July 2018.
Definition
2.  In this Order, “exempt area” means any area in Singapore described in the Schedule.
Exemption for exempt area licensable service
3.  A person who carries on, in the course of business, a licensable activity —
(a)consisting of offering or exposing undocked power‑assisted bicycles or motorised personal mobility devices for hire by the general public to ride solely within an exempt area and —
(i)allowing the hiring of any of these vehicles to end in or at a public place within the exempt area undocked; or
(ii)taking bookings for the hire of any of these vehicles, the hiring of which may end in or at a public place within the exempt area undocked; and
(b)pursuant to the permission of —
(i)the Jurong Town Corporation in the case of an exempt area in Part 1 or 2 of the Schedule; or
(ii)the Republic Polytechnic established by section 3 of the Republic Polytechnic Act (Cap. 270), in the case of the exempt area in Part 3 of the Schedule,
is exempt from section 8C(1) of the Act in relation to that activity.
