Workplace Safety and Health
(Exemption) (Amendment)
Order 2011
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62(2) of the Workplace Safety and Health Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Workplace Safety and Health (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2011 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2011.
New paragraph 4
2.  The Workplace Safety and Health (Exemption) Order (O 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 3, the following paragraph:
Occupiers of domestic premises exempted
4.—(1)  Any person who is an occupier of any domestic premises, not being premises which are used (whether wholly or partly) by the occupier for the purpose of the conduct of any business or undertaking of the occupier, is hereby exempted from the provisions of the Act.
(2)  For the avoidance of doubt, for the purpose of sub-paragraph (1), the leasing out of the whole or any part of the domestic premises by the occupier of the premises to another for residential purposes does not constitute conducting a business or undertaking.”.
