(Amendment) Order 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) Act 1948, the President makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Permanent Court of Arbitration) (Amendment) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 14 June 2022.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2 of the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Permanent Court of Arbitration) Order 2007 (G.N. No. S 519/2007) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “the PCA Legal Officer” in paragraph (b) of the definition of “Official of the PCA” and substituting the words “any PCA Legal Officer”;

(b)

by deleting the words “signed in Singapore on 25 July 2017” in the definition of “PCA Agreement” and substituting the words “dated on 25 April 2022”; and

(c)

by deleting the definition of “PCA Legal Officer” and substituting the following definition:

“ “PCA Legal Officer” means any legal officer of the PCA appointed to serve in Singapore by the PCA pursuant to the PCA Agreement;”.

Amendment of paragraph 4

3. Paragraph 4 of the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Permanent Court of Arbitration) Order 2007 is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “the PCA Legal Officer and staff supporting him to discharge their official duties” in sub‑paragraph (1)(c) and substituting the words “any PCA Legal Officer and staff supporting any PCA Legal Officer to discharge their official duties”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “the PCA Legal Officer to discharge his official duties” in sub‑paragraph (8)(d) and substituting the words “any PCA Legal Officer to discharge the PCA Legal Officer’s official duties”.
