(Lamppost as a Platform Trial
Stage 2 — Exemption) Order 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 66 of the Active Mobility Act 2017, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the Active Mobility (Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2 — Exemption) Order 2019.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2” means the trial conducted, between 8 July 2019 and 30 September 2019 (both dates inclusive), by ST Electronics under a contract with the Government Technology Agency established by section 3 of the Government Technology Agency Act 2016 (Act 23 of 2016);
“specified footpath” means any part of the footpath at 492 Lorong 26 Geylang, Singapore 389456, starting from car park lot number 15 and running along Lorong 26 Geylang for 35 metres, ending at car park lot number 18, and that is more particularly delineated by the blue‑coloured line in the map set out in the Schedule;
“ST Electronics” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act (Cap. 50) as ST Electronics (Info‑Comm Systems) Pte. Ltd. (UEN 198601460K);
“trial bicycle” means a bicycle that is leased by ST Electronics and is approved by the Authority for use during the Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2;
“trial personal mobility device” means a personal mobility device that is leased by ST Electronics and is approved by the Authority for use during the Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2;
“working day” means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday.
Exemption for trial personal mobility device riders
3.  Sections 19(1), 20A, 21 and 28B(1) of the Act do not apply to an individual riding a trial personal mobility device on the specified footpath under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is authorised by ST Electronics to ride the trial personal mobility device;
(b)the trial personal mobility device is ridden only between 8 July 2019 and 30 September 2019 (both dates inclusive) and in connection with the Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2;
(c)ST Electronics gives at least 3 working days’ written notice to the Authority of each date and time that the trial personal mobility device will be ridden.
Exemption for ST Electronics
4.  Section 28B(2) of the Act does not apply to ST Electronics where it causes or permits an individual exempt under paragraph 3 to ride an unregistered registrable personal mobility device on the specified footpath.
Exemption for trial bicycle riders
5.  Section 21 of the Act does not apply to an individual riding a trial bicycle on the specified footpath under the following conditions:
(a)the individual is authorised by ST Electronics to ride the trial bicycle;
(b)the trial bicycle is ridden only between 8 July 2019 and 30 September 2019 (both dates inclusive) and in connection with the Lamppost as a Platform Trial Stage 2;
(c)ST Electronics gives at least 3 working days’ written notice to the Authority of each date and time that the trial bicycle will be ridden.
