Road Traffic
(Authorisation of Use)
Notification 2011

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(2) of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation

1. This Notification may be cited as the Road Traffic (Authorisation of Use) Notification 2011.

Definition

2. In this Notification, “designated roads” means the racing circuit designated and approved for use by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, the Singapore Tourism Board and the Land Transport Authority of Singapore for the purpose of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Formula One World Championship 2011 and the roads that fall within the area surrounded by the racing circuit, which is more particularly shown in the Schedule.

Authorised use of certain vehicle

3.—(1) Subject to sub-paragraph (2), the vehicle bearing the registration number BKU6672 and which does not comply with —

(a)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) Rules (R 9); and
(b)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Lighting) Rules (R 10),

is authorised for use on any road in Singapore from 15th September 2011 to 26th September 2011 (both dates inclusive).

(2) The authorisation referred to in sub-paragraph (1) is subject to the following conditions in relation to the vehicle referred to in that sub-paragraph:

(a)	there shall be in force at all times a policy of insurance, in relation to the vehicle, insuring against any liability in respect of damage to any property or the death of, or bodily injury sustained by, any person caused by or arising out of the use of the vehicle; and
(b)	the vehicle shall be escorted by auxiliary police officers at all times when it is driven on any road in Singapore except when the vehicle is driven on the designated roads between 17th September 2011 and 25th September 2011 (both dates inclusive).
