Mental Capacity (Public Guardian Fees)
(Amendment) Regulations 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 31(3) and (4) and 46 of the Mental Capacity Act, the Minister for Social and Family Development hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Mental Capacity (Public Guardian Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and shall come into operation on 1 September 2014.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3 of the Mental Capacity (Public Guardian Fees) Regulations 2010 (G.N. No. S 106/2010) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “, except item 7,” in paragraph (2); and

(b)

by deleting paragraph (3) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(3) The fees specified in the Schedule are inclusive of the goods and services tax chargeable under the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap. 117A).”.

Deletion of regulation 4

3. Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is deleted.

Amendment of Schedule

4. The Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting item 1 and substituting the following items:

“

1.	For an application to register a lasting power of attorney executed by a Singapore citizen —

(a) in Form 1

Nil

(b) in Form 2

$200

1A.	For an application to register a lasting power of attorney executed by a permanent resident of Singapore —

(a) in Form 1

$50

(b) in Form 2

$200

”; and

(b)

by deleting items 6 and 7.
