Public Entertainments and Meetings
(Speakers’ Corner) (Exemption)
(Amendment) Order 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16A of the Public Entertainments Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Speakers’ Corner) (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2019 and comes into operation on 1 August 2019.

Amendment of paragraph 1

2. Paragraph 1 of the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Speakers’ Corner) (Exemption) Order 2016 (G.N. No. S 207/2016) is amended by deleting the words “and Meetings”.

New paragraph 2A

3. The Public Entertainments and Meetings (Speakers’ Corner) (Exemption) Order 2016 is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 2, the following paragraph:

“Non-applicability of paragraphs 3 and 4 on certain dates

2A. Paragraphs 3 and 4 do not apply on —

(a)	the whole of 9 August 2019 if the event known as the National Day Parade 2019 is held on 9 August 2019; or
(b)	the whole of 10 August 2019 if the event known as the National Day Parade 2019 is held on 10 August 2019.”.
