Criminal Procedure
(Amendment) Rules 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 428A(15) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2019 and come into operation on 31 January 2019.
Amendment of rule 6
2.  Rule 6 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2018 (G.N. No. S 727/2018) is amended by deleting the words “foreign State” wherever they appear in paragraphs (1)(c) and (2) and substituting in each case the words “foreign jurisdiction”.
Amendment of rule 11
3.  Rule 11 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2018 is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “within the day on which that application is filed” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “at the same time as the filing of that application”; and
(b)by deleting the words “within the day on which that application is filed” in paragraph (4).
Saving and transitional provision
4.  Despite rule 3, rule 11 of the Criminal Procedure Rules 2018 as in force immediately before 31 January 2019 continues to apply to an applicant in a leave application made under section 394H(1) of the Code before that date.
