Parking Places
(Coupon Parking)
(Amendment) Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Parking Places (Coupon Parking) (Amendment) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 3 October 2017.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Parking Places (Coupon Parking) Rules (R 3) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is amended by inserting, immediately after the definition of “coupon parking place” or “parking place”, the following definition:

“ “DP app” has the meaning given by the Parking Places (Digital Payment — Parking Charges) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 553/2017);”.

New rule 3A

3. The principal Rules are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 3, the following rule:

“Payment by parking coupons or DP app

3A. A person must not park a vehicle in any coupon parking place at any period of time during which prescribed charges are payable unless the prescribed charges for that period is paid by —

(a)	the method described in these Rules;
(b)	the method described in the Parking Places (Digital Payment — Parking Charges) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 553/2017); or
(c)	a combination of those methods.”.

New rule 15

4. The principal Rules are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 14, the following rule:

“Rules disapplied to the extent DP app is used

15. Rules 4, 6, 8, 11 and 13 do not apply to —

(a)	a person who parks a vehicle in a coupon parking place who pays, in accordance with the method described in the Parking Places (Digital Payment — Parking Charges) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 553/2017), the prescribed charge for the whole of the period, or a part of the period, the vehicle is so parked or intended to be so parked; and
(b)	the period the prescribed charge for which is paid in accordance with the method described in the Parking Places (Digital Payment — Parking Charges) Rules 2017.”.
