Optometrists and Opticians
(Registration and Practising Certificates)
(Amendment) Regulations 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Optometrists and Opticians Act, the Minister for Health, after consulting the Optometrists and Opticians Board, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Optometrists and Opticians (Registration and Practising Certificates) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into operation on 26 August 2019.
Amendment of Part I of Second Schedule
2.  Part I of the Second Schedule to the Optometrists and Opticians (Registration and Practising Certificates) Regulations (Rg 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after item 1, the following item:
 
“2.Ngee Ann Polytechnic
 
Diploma in Optometry”.
Amendment of Part II of Second Schedule
3.  Part II of the Second Schedule to the Optometrists and Opticians (Registration and Practising Certificates) Regulations is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the word “Country” in the heading of the first column, the words “or region”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after item 1 relating to the country “Australia”, the following item:
 
“1A.Queensland University of Technology
 
Master of Optometry”;
(c)by inserting, immediately after item 3 relating to the country “Australia”, the following item:
 
“3A.The University of Melbourne
 
Doctor of Optometry”;
(d)by inserting, immediately after item 5 relating to the country “Australia”, the following item:
 
“6.The University of New South Wales
 
Master of Clinical Optometry”; and
(e)by inserting, immediately after item 1 relating to the country “Republic of Ireland”, the following item:
 
“2.Dublin Institute of Technology
 
Bachelor of Science in Optometry”.
