Rules 2023

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 33(1) of the Public Entertainments Act 1958, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Public Entertainments (Miscellaneous Amendments) Rules 2023 and are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of Public Entertainments and Meetings (Composition of Offences by Public Entertainment Licensing Officer) Rules 2014

2. In the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Composition of Offences by Public Entertainment Licensing Officer) Rules 2014 (G.N. No. S 884/2014) —

(a)	in rule 1, delete “and Meetings”;
(b)	in rule 2, replace “section 21(1)” with “section 31(1)”;
(c)	in rule 2(a), replace “section 17A(7)(a) or (b)” with “section 25(7)(a) or (b)”;
(d)	in rule 2(a), replace “section 17A(1)” with “section 25(1)”;
(e)	in rule 2(b), replace “section 19(1)(a), (b) or (c)” with “section 28(1)(a), (b) or (c)”;
(f)	in rule 2(c) and (d), replace “section 19(1)(d)” with “section 28(1)(d)”;
(g)	in rule 2(d), delete “and Meetings”; and
(h)	in rule 2(e), replace “section 19(3)” with “section 28(3)”.

Amendment of Public Entertainments and Meetings (Specified Establishments) Rules 2015

3. In the Public Entertainments and Meetings (Specified Establishments) Rules 2015 (G.N. No. S 188/2015), in rule 1, delete “and Meetings”.

Amendment of Public Entertainments (Public Entertainment Appeal Board) Rules 2017

4. In the Public Entertainments (Public Entertainment Appeal Board) Rules 2017 (G.N. No. S 433/2017) —

(a)	in rule 2, in the definitions of “chairperson”, “member” and “vice‑chairperson”, replace “section 16AA(1)” with “section 20(1)”;
(b)	in rule 2, in the definition of “secretary”, replace “section 16AA(3)” with “section 20(3)”; and
(c)	in rule 3, replace “section 16” with “section 19”.
