(Amendment)
Rules 2010

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(3) and (4) of the Legal Profession Act, the Board of Legal Education hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Legal Profession (Amendment) Rules 2010 and shall come into operation on 15th October 2010.

Amendment of rule 11

2. Rule 11(2) of the Legal Profession Rules (R 3) is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:

“(a)

a certificate in Form A as set out in the Schedule if —

(i)	he has attended the preparatory course leading to Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations conducted by the Board; and
(ii)	he has passed Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations; or”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Legal Profession Rules is amended by deleting Form A and substituting the following Form:

“FORM A

Rule 11(2)(a)

BOARD OF LEGAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATE

PART B OF THE SINGAPORE BAR EXAMINATIONS

It is hereby certified that *__________________________ —

(a)	has successfully completed all the requirements of the preparatory course leading to Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations conducted by the Board; and

(b)	has passed Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations.
